YoGift (UK registered charity 1197129) raises funds in the UK which we then direct to organisations in India working to alleviate child poverty.

YoGift developed from a small group of friends coming together to reflect on how grateful we were for our yoga practice and for the friendship and community that has developed from our yoga and wellbeing practices.  We started to think about how we could bring practical meaning to our gratitude.  This led us to create our very own charity, YoGift, to raise money and support children in poverty in India.

YoGift offers a practical way to celebrate our gratitude for the gift of yoga in our lives.  To give thanks to the country where many spiritual and wellbeing practices that we value so much originated.

We operate by raising funds in the UK which we then direct to established partners in India.  The first organisation we have chosen to partner with is Harmony house,  just outside Delhi.  Pairing with established charities in India means that we can direct funds quickly and efficiently where they are most needed.  

Harmony House is a children’s day centre in an area called Gurgaon,  just outside Delhi.  It’s located next to a slum area where most of its children live.   It takes in over 1000 children every day and supports them in education, nutrition, healthcare, well-being, vocational training and employment and careers placement.   

As YoGift has grown we are now looking to bring new centres on board that we can support – so watch put for our updates.  We recognise that we have small beginnings, but we have big aims and ambitions to develop and grow our fundraising, so that we can bring more partners on board and through them support as many children as possible.

This is how you can help

 Hold a fundraising event, yoga class, exercise class, bike ride, walk, trek, bake sale, birthday party – anything – and send the proceeds to YoGift – email us hello@yogift.org and we will send you a fundraising pack.  A great way to have fun with friends, family, colleagues and support children in poverty in India at the same time.

Give YoGift donation vouchers as a gift – it can sometimes be really difficult to come up with new and creative gift ideas – you could make a donation to YoGift as a gift for a loved one on a special occasion – simply drop us a quick email, hello@yogift.org and we will send you a voucher that you can give to your loved one to say you have donated on their behalf.
